The penultimate day of the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships was a good one for American ladies as Willow Koerber rode to the bronze medal in the elite women’s cross country event and her teammate Heather Irmiger finished sixth. In the men’s event, Sam Schultz was the highest-placed American in 20th.

The 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships continued on Friday with the junior men’s cross country race, U23 men’s cross country race, and the elite men’s and women’s four-cross competitions. Seth Kemp had a super-impressive ride, taking 18th place among the junior men. In the U23 event, Robbie Squire was the highest placed American in 31st, and in the four-cross, Barry Nobles put on quite a show and rode to seventh place.

Just shot this earlier today at Hummingbird trail in Simi Valley. Since there are no trees at this trail, I recruited two really cool people to help me set up some shots for my “Uni-Cable-Cam”. (about a 1:30 in) We rigged it so that each person could hold one end of the line very solidly, and it worked out surprisingly good. They even let me hook up their GoPro HD for a few shots…I MUST get one of those. The HD quality is amazing and cyrstal clear. Hope you enjoy and drop a comment if the mood strikes you.
The 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is officially in the books as racing wrapped up on Windham Mountain in New York’s Catskills on Sunday with the men’s and women’s downhill contests. Reigning U.S. national champ Aaron Gwin earned a spot on the overall World Cup podium in only his second year racing the World Cup circuit. His fourth place finish in Sunday’s final earned him fourth place overall in the final World Cup standings.
A downhill run taken from the top right hand corner (near the Vineyard) of the Majura Pines tracks. Becuase Stromlo has been a bit wet and boggy with all the recent rain, it was time to take a break from that area. So I decided to hit Majura as I hadnt been out there for a while. Despite this area also having a few wet and boggy sections it was mild compared to Stromlo.
