Only one bicycle deserves to be called The Best. If any cyclist, pro or amateur, were to design the dream, bike, here's what it would be like: First, it would be Italian. No nation's bikes inspire such lust in the hearts of cyclists all over the world. So it has to be hand-made and finished in Italy. Second, to be a true dream bike, it would have a generous use of the most advanced ultra-light carbon-fiber construction available today, but without sacrificing any strength. It would have a full-carbon frame AND fork, with reinforcements at strategic places of high stress. ,It would have that "just-right" combination of superb handling and ultra-performance, coupled with a comfortable ride and perfect fit for all riders. Lastly, it would have to have world-class, top-of-the-line parts in every possible place on the bike: Campagnolo Record 10-speed group Cinelli RAM carbon handlebar/stem ensemble Selle Italia SLR Carbonio saddle Look's new KEO professional pedals Mavic's Ksyrium SL2 Wheels Vittoria EVO KX pro-level tires Guizzo's new Ultra-light carbon seatpost Individually hand made and hand painted one at a time in the cherished Italian tradition. The Pinnr is a true freeride bike that will definately make an impact in the industry. The head tube features a low-stack headset that minimizes unwanted front-end loft. The tube set features remarkably angular, styley, monocoque profiles with a bent top tube to maximize standover. The Pinn'r also has an interrupted seat tube that makes way for the shock and mounts and a remarkably high down tube. The design is brutally strong, stiff and uniquely Mongoose. For those of us that believe weld beads are art, you are going to be able to stand back and drink in the beauty of long, exquisite lines. Mountain bikes could learn a thing or two about cable routing from the world of road bikes, where visible lines are taboo. The Pinnr does not have internally routed cables but the routing is remarkably low-key, passing along the down tube through specific channels that run below the shock and its mounts. The Pinnr also uses a unique suspension design that Mongoose calls FreeDrive. The bottom bracket and mount for the shock are on a separate frame component from the front or rear triangles, and float between the two main frame pieces using a series of pivots and a small dogbone. (See video below) Features: FRAME: New Mongoose FreeDrive Freeride 6061 Aluminum w/ Patented Floating BB, 1.5 Headtube, 150mm Maxle Dropouts, 190mm Travel FORK/SHOCK: Marzocchi 66 RCV w/ Preload, Compression & Rebound Adjust, 180mm Travel, 20mm Tool-Free Thru-Axle; Fox Van R Coilover w/ Piggyback Reservoir, Rebound & Preload Adjust DRIVETRAIN: Shimano SLX 9-Speed Derailleur & Deore Trigger Shifter; Gravity Step Up 36t Crankset w/ External Bearings & E.13 LG Chainguide BRAKES: Avid Juicy 3 Hydraulic Disc, 203mm Rotors

While this is a new offering from the Randall Scott Company this bike is no stranger to the staff. Our test rider spent 3,000 miles on the Kharma and filed the following report: The Kuota Kharma is a wonderful surprise in the world of look-alike carbon bikes. Too many companies are throwing parts on a carbon frame hoping that the allure of carbon will be enough to make wallets and purses fly open. The Kuota Kharma is a different beast. It is a cost effective bike with a purposeful design and stunning good looks (carbon and white together are dead sexy!). The frame is oversized at the head tube and has stout down tube for sure handling and stiffness. The rear end of the bike sits well for control and comfort. The Kuota KF09 carbon fork does more than hold the front wheel in place. The fork gives confident feedback during the ride and guides through the descents. Small moves in a packed peloton or soloing down the side of a mountain can be made almost through thought alone. I spent many test days in the mountains and churning the flats pushing this bike to the limits. It climbs, descends and collects town signs sprints like Florida collects Buicks. There is great reward to be had from a machine that answers the call for performance and speed and can do so hours on end comfortably. Get this bike! The RS Cycle Kuota Kharma comes dressed out with a Shimano Dura-Ace rear derailleur and Ultegra front derailleur, ,chain and shifters for years of shifting precision. Vittoria Zaffiro tires and Shimano WH-R510 wheels keep the wheels true and on the rail. A San Marco Ponza saddle is the classic perch that leads to the a cockpit consisting of the Profile Designs Hammer OS bar and Deda Quatro stem. If you are looking for shortcomings, you may want to check what your friends are riding! Assembly Details for the 2008 Kuota Kharma While most of our bikes come standard in factory direct condition roughly 80% assembled, the Kuota Kharma has not been pre-assembled at the factory and will require a frame-up assembly by a professional bike mechanic. We recommend purchasing our professional assembly service Pro-Build for $59.95 (most shops will charge upward of $100 for a frame up build). If you choose not to have the bike built by us we encourage you to bring your bike to a local shop for assembly by a professional.
